Beach Wedding
Beach weddings are a fabulous idea for marrying some where like
the Caribbean. Here is a guide for the best beach wedding ever.
Location
If it's possible try and book a private beach then you can have your wedding
ceremony, and reception all day and night and just party. If you can't hire
a private beach or there won't be enough guests attending most places will allow
you to have a beach party. Then if you haven't got enough guests then you could
let others join in and get to meet new friends all in one.
Invites
Send the invites in old bottles for that real beach feel. Or for an easier and
less expensive way use stationary with pebble or sand designs.
Decor
Make Three heart designs in the sand using shells, pebbles or drift wood. One
for you and the Groom, one for the priest etc. And one for the guests. Write
your vows in the sand for all to see.
Flowers
Wear Hawaiian style lei flowers in stead of bouquets. Get a florist at your
wedding destination to put together bouquets with shells attached to them. Or
instead of flowers you could carry a shell encrusted candle.
Brides Attire
Wear a grass skirt with a bikini and a Hawaiian garland. You could go with
a floral dress or a sarong and bikini. Wear a shell necklace and earrings. Go
bare foot. Your bridesmaids could dress the same.
Grooms Attire
Floral shirt and Bermuda shorts with a Hawaiian garland round his neck.
Or he could do a David Beckham and wear a sarong and vest top. Bare foot or
sandals.
Catering
For the cake have a sea theme one made. Try white and milk chocolate shell decorations.
If you are having your wedding in the UK you could make it yourself by buying
a plain sponge cake (or a few in different sizes depending if you want tier
cake). Make your own shells with chocolate or buy some candy ones. Have a sea
food spread. Prawn cocktail, Lobster. A lot of caterers (especially abroad)
will be able to make exotic sea food dishes.
Favours
Make everyone a goodie bag containing sunglasses, flip-flops or you could make
or buy little shell decorations.
Reception
If you can hire a private beach (that is if you have got enough guests to attend)
you can party all day and night with out having to leave. And because it is
hot you won't need to change your clothes, unless you a wearing a wedding dress.
Even if you can't hire a beach there are always beach party's on a night time
(depending on the time you go).
A Wedding in the Bahamas

Do you envision your wedding in a tropical paradise? Perhaps you see yourself exchanging vows on the warm sand beside an aquamarine sea or sailing off into the sunset with ten of your dearest friends to enjoy a wedding feast and the spectacular scenery. If such a scenario appeals to you, a Bahamas wedding can make your dream come true.
In order to be eligible for a legal Bahamas wedding, you and your partner must spend one day in the Bahamas before submitting an application for a marriage license ($100). You must provide a photo ID. If you are widowed, you are required to provide the death certificate of your spouse; if you are divorced, you must provide a document proving that you are legally divorced. You will also need to have proof of your arrival date in the Bahamas (your Bahamas Embarkation Card will do). It is recommended that you obtain a copy of your wedding certificate before you leave the Bahamas. It can be mailed to you if time is an issue but delays and complications have been frequently encountered. Once you arrive home, you will need this marriage certificate in order to obtain other legal documents.
Wedding packages are offered at most hotels and resorts in the Bahamas. Prices vary. Here are a few examples:
- The Bluff House Beach Hotel located in Green Turtle Bay, Abaco, Bahamas, offers a wedding package that includes: a wedding coordinator, a wedding cake, a minister or administrator to perform the ceremony, a photographer, the bride's bouquet and a bottle of champagne. They will also be happy to arrange for a live band and a buffet.
- Small Hope Bay Lodge located in Andros Island, Bahamas, is a smaller resort consisting of 20 cottages, one of which is a honeymoon cottage. It offers a simple wedding package for $500 which includes all the necessary paper work, a cake and champagne, a video and photos. At this resort you can get married on the beach or even underwater!
- Bahamas Wedding Paradise is an organization that offers several wedding packages. You can select one of their packages or design your own. Packages range in price from $360 to over $3000 (please note that Bahamas Wedding Paradise is not a hotel or a resort).
